The evolution of my work has made a marked change in the last five years. With long experience in traditional metalsmithing techniques I created items using those time honored methods for many years and was quite successful. Lately, however, I have moved away from using heat, hammers, and large power tools in favor of a few simple hand tools. These now comprise my entire tool kit that is portable enough to accompany me anywhere.
This has freed me up and enabled the production of pieces of a more organic nature. This evolution of technique and design have proven to be immensely satisfying as well as critically successful. Using processes not seen since the thirteenth century allows the creation of massive pieces that are not only quite light but very wearable.
